About Us

Up and Running Event Management organizes running races, triathlons, and ski races around Alaska. As volunteers on various race committees, Lauri Bassett, Lisa Keller, and Greta Yarbrough were brought together in 2000 on the Alaska Women’s Gold Nugget Triathlon race committee. In 2004 they invested in the purchase of ChampionChip timing equipment and incorporated as a business to offer timing, results, course marshalling, and event planning. In 2009, Up and Running Event Management began to manange the USATF course sanctioning for the state of Alaska.

Up and Running Event Management Partners

Lauri manages the pre-race aspects of races including registration, bib and chip pickup, and volunteer management.

Lisa manages the course marshalling of races including securing of road/building use permits, arranging for traffic control, and the design of courses. Lisa is certified to sanction USATF courses.

Greta Yarbrough manages the timing and results of all races. Greta maintains the current technology standards on our equipment and can run results for the simple 5K running race, to a multisport team race.

Up and Running Event Management Staff

Timers
Lexi Hill is a timer who has worked extensively with Up and Running on the Gold Nugget Triathlon, the Tour of Anchorage, the Eagle River Triathlon as well as many of our running events. Lexi is one of our best problem solvers when it comes down to analyzing results.

Laura Carpenter is a timer who also doubles as an event volunteer coordinator. Finding such a combination is not very common; but whether Laura is your timer or if she’s working with the volunteers of your event, she will provide excellent service.

Course Marshalling
Renee Rudd and Larrell Lockard are experienced course marshalls for Up and Running. They will help you with course layout details as well as start / finish line details.

Course Set-up
Trevor Clayton has the vision of start line, finish line, and chip corral set-up. In his short time with us, he has become an expert in getting just the right look for these areas.

Registration
Lori Wingert works events in the areas of registration, bib pickup, and day of race duties. She will help coordinate between the race director and the participants to keep communication flowing smoothly.

Pre-race / Post Race
Kira Dragano and Lisa Oberlee prepare chips (and bibs if required) for each race. This includes labeling chip/bib envelopes and preparing them for bib pickup.

Lori Pickett gathers chips after each race to reconcile them with the chips which were distributed.
